The Youth Association
of the Church of the East in India
hosts the “Choir Meet”. This year the St. Mary’s (Mart Mariyam) parish Youth
Association took on the tasks of organising this year’s meet which was staged
on Tuesday 25th December 2007.
Six parish choir
groups took part, each presenting two hymns/songs. The audience were filed with
joy when hearing the words proclaimed by the, “Glory to God in the
Highest Haven and Peace on earth to those with whom He is pleased”.
At the conclusion of
the evening, our beloved Archbishop His Grace Dr. Mar Aprem distributed prizes
to the best three performances for 2007.
- First prize was presented to the Mar
Yohanna Mamdhana (John the Baptist) Parish, East Fort.
- Second prize was presented to Mart Mariyam
(St Mary’s) Parish, Thrissur.
Third
prize was presented to Mar Aprem Parish, Chellakottukara
